"Enjoyment and harmony," is what melanie rosenberger, chairwoman of the schwarzach settlers’ association, wished the numerous guests at the association’s 50th anniversary celebration. The marquee on the land at the city park was decorated in the colors of the "settlers" – a fresh green and festive woman. The club had really dressed up to celebrate: there were new club t-shirts, chic summer hats with green brims and even the club logo had been renewed.
A coarse colorful umbrella protected the guests of honor from raindrops
The people took an active part in the jubilee, so that it became a real village celebration. This was entirely in the spirit of the settlers, who have done a great deal for the people and guests of schwarzach over the course of five decades. "It’s nice to see that our commitment is so well received," said a pleased tino frank, the company’s editor. He led the procession and ensured that the guests of honor were not hit by too many raindrops with a coarse, colorful umbrella.
The settlers seem to have a knack for finding the right moment: the procession started five minutes earlier than planned and just as the last flag delegations reached the marquee, a thunderstorm began. Quickly improvised, then wiped and dried, so that all guests could enjoy the afternoon as desired.
Generation change in the management of the association has been a success
The settlers were joined in the celebration by district administrator tamara bischof, mayor and patron volker schmitt, mayor lothar nagel, mareike rathje, the evangelical pastor of schwarzach, the members of the market town council, and the representatives of the schwarzach associations. Musically the procession was framed by the blaserecho stadtschwarzach, the spielmannszug wiesenbronn and the schwarzenauer blasmusik. Already in the morning there was a catholic festive service in the tent with dean peter gottke.
Rosenberger thanked all the cake donors and the many helpers for their efforts. Without the broad support it could not have become such a great jubilee. "A really successful celebration! A big thank you to the board of directors!", said also honorary chairman wolfgang etzel. With the 50th anniversary, it has become clear to everyone that the change of generations in the leadership of the club has been a success. The settlers’ association has a good future.
