Is double attack:58 dead in shia district in damascus

At least 58 people were killed in a double attack by the IS terrorist militia in the south of the syrian capital of damascus.

A suicide bomber initially detonated an explosives-laden car at a checkpoint in the shia district of sajeda sainab, the syrian observatory for human rights further reported. When people rushed to the scene of the accident, another suicide bomber blew himself up.

Among the victims were 25 fighters from a militia loyal to the regime as well as civilians, it added. Dozens of other people were injured, some of them seriously. State television also reported at least 45 fatalities. Damascus is largely controlled by regime troops.

In an initially unverifiable message on the internet, the sunni terrorist militia islamic state (IS) claimed responsibility for the attack. The observatory also reported that the attack was carried out by two IS members. The terrorist militia sees muslims of the shiite faith as apostates from the "true faith".

According to UN figures, more than 250,000 people have died in the bloody civil war in syria over the past five years. Peace talks to be held in geneva in the next few days are intended to create the basis for a calming of the conflict in the civil war country.
